Somebody made a statue of me Left me cold Frozen Cloaked In layers Unable to feel a thing Yet I want to Get naked With you I want to strip this layer And the next And the next Until I am Naked With you *** Someone made a monument of me Left me embalmed Buried Hidden Under barriers Unable to feel a thing Still I want to Get naked With you I want to break this barrier And the next And the next Until I am Naked With you *** But Naked is frightening And nothing is as frightening As frightening as bringing down my walls for you to see right into The dark places no eyes but mine have ever been And Naked is daunting But even as daunting As daunting as it seems, it is beautiful to be myself with you in Those dark ways no one but me has ever seen *** So, I want to get naked Because Naked is beautiful It is Laughing and hearing the laughter from my mouth multiplied by yours Crying and seeing the tears in my eyes reflected in yours It is Having my joys doubled And my troubles halved It is Spreading my wings and reaching to do the impossible with you beside me Crashing and falling only to look up to see you still beside me It is Being kissed a thousand times in ten thousand ways Recalling the memories of kisses past even when the moments are long gone in days It is Being told in the sweetest words that I am beautiful Being told the same even when I am not so much so too It is Feeling you, with every breath, as being only a heartbeat away Knowing when miles between us prevail, you’re always a call away It is Stripping before you without shame, knowing your eyes are not judging me Warring with you bitterly, yet not being afraid that it’s the end of you loving me This is naked. *** So You might end up making a statue of me too Leaving me cold Frozen Unable to feel a thing Still I’ll take that chance on you I’ll strip a layer And the next And the next And the next Until I am Totally Completely Irrevocably Naked With you © Lara Brown, 2016 Photo by Anna Shvets from Pexels
